ABOUT THE MODEL

The La Union is a log pig, and it was born from a trip Lufi took to the Philippines. In the La Union region, he was welcomed by people with easy smiles and very talented surfers, and one of them, Rogelio Esquivel Jr, @jayresquivel, is now on the team. Back to the surfboard, Lufi designed this log and named it after the place. 50/50 rails and a concave running from the nose to the middle, made for technical noseriding.

This unit is a 9'8" with 79 liters.

And it is made of PU, which changes the way it rides. PU is denser than EPS, so this board comes in at 9 kg. This weight works in its favor on the nose: it holds its trim, carries through dead sections without losing speed, and keeps the board from being tossed around by the wind or chop. It is that classic longboard glide. A cedar stringer runs through the inside, and PU also flexes more than EPS, so the board responds under your feet instead of feeling rigid.
