ABOUT THE MODEL

The Old School is part glider, part log, and part fish, yet it doesn't fit into any of those three categories. It is wider at the chest area, and that’s what gives it its paddle power: you catch whatever you paddle for. It allows for big turns and hang fives, and it works for any skill level in waves up to one meter.

This unit is a 7'0" with 50.67 liters.

And it is made of EPS, which changes the way it rides. EPS is lighter and floats more per liter, so this board comes in at 4.3 kg and paddles as if it were a few inches longer. It helps on small-wave days and for those who are still building their paddle strength. Inside runs a cedar stringer, which is what returns rigidity to a lighter blank. In exchange for the weight, you lose a bit of flex, and it chatters more when the water is choppy.
